Family and Closely-held Businesses

The Center for Family and Closely-held Businesses provides consulting, research, credit and non-credit courses. The Center has participated in the development of a state-wide awards program for small growing businesses and worked with Corporate Report Wisconsin and Associated Bank in sponsoring the awards.

Future activities of the Center include:

  • Not-for-credit offerings. Individual seminars or certification programs with target audiences of owners, future owners (next generation), non-owners, and/or suppliers. Subject matter would focus on issues unique to family and closely-held businesses.
  • For-credit offerings. A combination of new courses with a focus on FCHB or inclusion of related material into existing courses. Graduate and/or undergraduate focuses are possible.
  • Research support. Providing support and encouragement for faculty to engage in research related to FCHB and/or conducting research for such a business.
