Society for Human Resource Management Student Chapter (SHRM)
CONGRATULATIONS! Our SHRM Chapter was recognized for receiving superior performance award (top 20% of chapter) from the national SHRM 5 of the last 6 years!
The SHRM is the professional organization representing the interests of over 175,000 members. The Society's mission is to serve the needs of HR professionals by providing the most essential and comprehensive resources available. The Society's influential voice is used to advance the human resource profession and to ensure that HR is recognized as an essential partner in developing and executing organizational strategy. Currently SHRM has more than 500 professional and over 400 student chapters and nearly 10,000 student members. Also, there are more than 500 affiliated chapters within the United States and members in more than 100 countries. (shrm.org) The society is a founding member of the World Federation of Personnel Management Associations, which links human resource associations with 55 nations. Members of the 400+ student chapters participate in activities that build their knowledge and help them develop valuable leadership and organizational skills. By interacting with local HR professionals, students make contacts that could help them find a job when they graduate. SHRM activities are open to all students.
